The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), through its Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel, has issued an interim suspension order against four medical practitioners within the country due to allegations of professional misconduct and malpractice.
The affected medical practitioners are identified as follows: Dr. Ejike Ferdinand Orji, Dr. Richard Chukwujekwu Okoye, Dr. Olalekan Olatise, and Dr. Buliaminu Adebayo Adigun.
The announcement of this disciplinary action was disseminated by the Council through its official Facebook channel. According to the statement, these registered practitioners are prohibited from practicing medicine in Nigeria until the pending cases against them undergo adjudication by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.
Furthermore, the MDCN has ensured that both the individuals in question and relevant institutions have been duly notified to enforce this suspension order.
The MDCN plays a pivotal role in regulating the practice of medicine, dentistry, and alternative medicine within the country, with the overarching objective of safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria’s healthcare system.
